Claude Debussy began composing his Suite Bergamasque in 1890 but it was not completed and published until 1905. Reluctant at first, Debussy agreed to the request from his publisher only after making some revisions to the orignal works.
The third movement, Clair de Lune, takes its title from a poem by Paul Verlaine (as does the reference to Bergamasque). Arranged for brass ensemble by Michael Allen.
